Reading the guide in RS travel book, I think renting via Velib seems like a good option. Looking for opinions. Thank you.
My sister and I did this to ride along the Seine. It was fun and easy. I wasn’t comfortable about riding in traffic, or even bike lanes next to traffic, so we didn’t bike elsewhere.
My wife and I have been to Paris 5 or 6 times, and we have used the Velib rental bikes every time we're there. We find it very enjoyable to ride around the city, and this is a pretty inexpensive way to do it. It certainly has its occasional challenges (i.e. no bikes at a certain location, a broken pedal, etc.), but for the price, it's a pretty good deal. We're heading back to Paris next month, and making sure our Velib app is up-to-date will be a pre-trip priority!
Le Peloton is a Cafe, Bike Rental & Bike Tour business: https://www.lepelotoncafe.cc/roadrentals, as an alternative.
Enjoy your trip.
