We have a train ride tomorrow from Marseille to Paris. We have US CDC vaccination cards - will we be able to get on the train with that?
Are you there in Marseille now? If so wouldn't it be easier to get a definite answer by asking at the SNCF train station ticket window in Marseille before the departure early tomorrow morning?
This thread should help you: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/covid19/message-i-just-got-from-sncf-re-riding-trains-with-qr-code
For future reference if anyone has this question …. I flashed my CDC card when they scanned my ticket and it was fine. I didn’t notice them even scanning the French people’s QR codes
Trizz, that's nice to know. I am hoping come November when I arrive at CDG and take the train to Strasbourg all I will need is either my CDC card or Pass Sanitaire QR code and not PCR or Antigen. Especially when returning from Strasbourg to Paris 4 days later via train.
Thank you Trizz! Really appreciate the report from boots on the ground 😊
They have said they will check about a quarter of trains. I don’t know if they have the staff to even do that. But it’s possible you could take several trains and never get checked. Alternatively, of course, you could take just one and get checked on that one.
Have you train riders received this email from OUIGO before you departed? Or is this something new?
Dear customer
Following government announcements, as part of the fight against COVID-19, you will be asked for a health pass for your planned trip to AIX-EN-PROVENCE TGV.
What is a health pass?
1- A vaccination certificate with complete vaccination schedule,
2- A negative RT-PCR test or negative antigen test of less than 72 hours (from the date of collection),
3- The result of a positive RT-PCR test attesting to the recovery of Covid-19,dating from at least 11 days and less than 6 months.
The proof, whatever it is, can be presented in paper or digital format but it must impera-tively include a QR code to allow checks.
