Hello all: Well, we decided on Vaux le Vicomte and are going on May 16 for candlelight evening. I purchased the tickets some days ago and at that time did not see any option for the late return chateaubus/Melun shuttle. Many people have referred to this bus on line. I could find nothing on the VlV website for a late return to the Melun station - whether it is called a bus or a shuttle. Lots of info saying to reserve it on the website, but . . . . can't find a thing there other than from Paris round trip. If anyone has found a good way to locate this info, please let me know.
It sounds like trying to arrange a taxi or Uber could also be a problem. Again, if you have fairly recent experience with that (past year or 2) please let me know. From prior posts I assume the gift shop is open late on the candlelight evenings - yes?? We would like to stay for the fireworks, but don't want to miss the train leaving Melun around midnight. It will be a pretty late night as it is.
Thanks so much for any information about getting back to Melun station after the 11:00 fireworks show. If anyone who has done this thinks we would be better off leaving earlier, please feel free to let me know. Cheers, Susan
