I'm driving to Paris from Amboise and was planning on stopping at Fontinbleau and then Vaux le vicomte. Both onthe same day. Too ambitious? They both sound spectacular to visit and can't choose. We will be there in a few weeks (mid-April)... Thanks!
We did this as a day trip from Paris, with about 3 hours at each location and felt we adequately saw each place. However, we weren’t driving, it was a bus trip operated by Paris City Vision that included the admission and transport fees.
Too ambitious unless you're just doing exteriors and gardens. Both estates are massive. Pick one and save the other for next time.
Paris city vision is what we did and what's also in the RS Paris guidebook. It's a long day but really good. If you have the time to give each their own day, great!
You can but I wouldn't Vaux le Vicomte really takes a day for the massive gardens and touring the chateau -- I'd just do that one.
Have done both although not in one day. I think it would be castle overload! Went to Vicomte at Christmas and it was one of the best places I have ever been too. Will be heading back there in July to do it again it was so magical.
