My wife and I will arrive in Paris on Valentine's Day and will be staying at the Renaissance Paris Republique hotel on Rue Rene Boulanger near the Republique metro stop. Any suggestions for a decent meal? I'd prefer not to break the bank so maybe something under 150 euros total? We would like to take a river cruise as well. Hopefully the water level will drop enough between now and then!
If the water does recede (unlikely in my opinion) so river cruises can resume, Les Vedettes du Pont Neuf is the one we enjoyed the most and we have taken several. Doing it at night is best since the lights of the city are super -- especially the Eifel Tower. Haven't dined that much in the area of Paris where you'll be staying so can't offer a suggestion for the Valentine dinner. Sorry.
We went here twice...the second time to enjoy a dinner provided by our son/daughter in law as a thank you for helping with their wedding planning. Love it! La Librarie is the place!
One time the server knew some English. One time it was fun to order when when I had to use my French and the server had to use...hardly ANY English!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Beef Club in Paris!
Thanks for the tips!
One Valentine’s Day we ended up in one of the big Paris brasseries across from a train station after a day trip. We had a great time. It happened to be L’Européen across from Gare de Lyon, but any of the traditional brasseries would be fine.
Les Ombres has a great view of the Eiffel Tower, and the food is good value for the money.
I don't think the river boats will be cruising, though...
