My family and I traveling in France for the Women's World Cup and have a ticket to a match in Valenciennes. Hotels there appear to be few in number and widely dispersed throughout the region (e.g., "9.9 miles from Valenciennes"). Lille has much more to choose from and there is a train to Valenciennes. Would it be better to stay in Lille and take a match day train to and from Valenciennes? Or is there a better way to get to and from Lille than via train? Or should I look for something else around Valenciennes? Any ideas appreciated.
