Vaccine Pass when arriving by train

Hi all,

Hopefully this will not be necessary by the time we travel in the summer, but I am asking to plan accordingly just in case. We will be arriving in Paris on the Thalys from Brussels. We arrive at Gare du Nord. To get to our hotel, we would need to take the metro (or taxi or an Uber). Right now it seems like we will be arriving on an evening train. My question is, would we need to have the pass before transferring to the Metro? Or can we take the Metro, get to our hotel, and then to try find the closest pharmacy? Knowing this might influence the decision as to what time to take the train.

Thanks in advance,

The pass vaccinal is not need for public transportation, to enter into stores, or to check into a hotel. Masks are all that is currently required.

There is a slight chance, that if arriving on an international train like the Thalys that they may have a checkpoint to verify any covid or other requirements for France (at least they have a time or two before) and will want proof of vaccination (if that is a thing then). In that case, your CDC card, or equivalent based on your residence, will suffice.

Four weeks ago, arriving at Gare du Nord from Brussels, all passengers were checked for proof of vaccination.

The pass vaccinal is required of those boarding the Intercité trains and the TGVs. Taking city buses, tramways, métro, or local trains does not require a pass vaccinal.

The vaccination requirements are slightly different for those entering France, from those wanting a pass viccinal, the latter being more restrictive.

Thank god I came across this thread. Are you saying I have to get a pass vaccinal to take the train from Paris to Interlaken(Basel)?

I (wrongly) figured since the Swiss had done away with most covid rules that I could just waltz on a train from France.
