Vaccine Expired - But Booster?

Hey guys, I have a quick question.
I received the second dose of my covid vaccine in April of 2021. I didn't get boosted.
Fast forward to now March - and France says you need to have a booster within 7 month of your 2nd shot of the original dose. I don't fall under that category. So do I just start over? How do I become eligible to travel there? They are giving parameters, but unfortunately I don't fall under any of them. Do I go get a booster? Do I start the process over from ground zero? Do I get the J&J? Help.

I would like to go to Paris later this month, but it's not looking possible.

You do fall into that category. It has been more than 7 months since you were fully vaccinated. Get your booster! Get it more than 14 days before traveling to France. Get Moderna or Pfizer.

But it said you have to have it within 7 months of your 2nd dose. And I am officially 11 months from my second dose.

I believe once you get the booster it is a moot point…. The booster would then make you fully vaccinated

Yes, for France, the booster eliminates any worry about time period. I believe the booster is valid 7 days after you receive it, not 14. So, go get your booster ASAP and you are good.

Since 1 February 2022, in order for their vaccination schedule to continue to be recognised as complete, persons aged 18 years or older wishing to enter French territory must have received a booster dose of messenger RNA vaccine no later than nine months after receiving the last mandatory dose.

This is confusing. What it means is that if 9 mos have passed, if you don't have a booster you cannot enter NOT that the booster itself has to have come within 9 mos. Get an MNRA booster and you are good to go 7 days later.

Okay - I'm going to get my booster tomorrow then! I thought my original shot expired and I was crap out of luck since my second dose was in April. But if I go tomorrow and lets say I head to Paris March 20th, I should be good, yes? Thank you so so much!

Well I have no authority but that is what I have read repeatedly. I will be traveling soon and hope it is so -- it is similar for many people who post here and on other travel forums and no one seems to have had an entry problem.

He isn't asking for medical advice; everyone needs a booster. He is asking about the very awkward wording of the French announcements on this which have been confusing pretty much everyone.

Hi! Thanks forever for your feedback. Certainly not looking for medicinal advice. Looking for travel advice (as that’s what I mentioned in my original post :) ) the France wording is very odd. But I’ve gotten my answer and am happy to say I will be going later this month!
