Vaccination Pass

Any new word on the chances it will no longer be required? Our trip isn't until April, and we know a lot can change. We have sent several emails, including our hotel to Nice tourist office and hotel, and no one can seem to tell us where to get the pass upon arrival.
We transit through CDG with only an hours layover, so won't have time to get it there.

Patience, April is a long way from the first of March, much can change.

I am not clear what you expect from a hotel. You want them to look up the addresses of all nearby pharmacies and send it to you. Won't that be evident the day you check in? Pharmacies are everywhere, this is just not something to worry about.

Have you made all your restaurant reservations? Reservations at the best possible restaurants is where I would spend my time.

As you say, much will be different by April. When you arrive at the hotel, the concierge will point you to the right pharmacy immediately and help you. No need to figure it all out right now.

Here is the latest statement from Olivier Véran, French health Minister:

"By mid-March, if hospital and epidemic conditions allow us, we will be able to completely remove the mask inside and remove all or part of the vaccine pass where it is still in effect today"

There is a pharmacy in the CDG airport, terminal 2F, that does the vaccine passes.

Tocard, we hardly expected the hotel to look up all the addresses of where to get the pass. We only inquired as to if one was near the hotel they could recommend upon arrival. As you say, it will all become more evident when we are physically in Nice. Here's hoping we won't need one at all come travel time. Skunklet thanks for the link, and JLN for the latest statement. That is encouraging. Jis, thanks for your insight as well. Inbsig, we only have 1 hr. layover in Paris and won't have time to get it there. Thank you all for your responses.

JR, don't worry -- if/when the French government makes an official announcement that they are no longer requiring the pass, you can be sure that one of us will post that quickly on the Forum.

For peace of mind, look up your hotel address on Google maps, and then type "pharmacies" in the search box for Google to show you the pharmacies near your hotel. You can check out each one and its hours (although keep in mind they might not be exactly up to date on the hours), and that way you know what your options are. It's not a bad idea to know where the nearest pharmacy is even if you don't end up needing a vaccine pass.

Thanks Kim. That is great advice and exactly what we will do. Here's to hoping no more pass, but if they do, we will be ready! Again, thank you so much!

They have announced that the pass is no longer required after March 14 barring unexpected changes in the epidemic.
