Vaccination

If you have been fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID - you should be good to go to France in 2022.

My question is - for those of us who will be travelling in 2023 - will our vaccine records from 2021 - be accepted by France. The vaccines are not effective after a while ...like 270 days - I read - so I will be way behind that time frame in October of 2023.

I would imagine, at some point, that another vaccine or booster shot will appear. And, if so, then we will roll up our sleeves again - at at least I will.

I realize that there may not an answer to my question .. any thoughts ..just don't want to end up with the scenario of a no go - after all this planning....

I don't know that your basic statement about efficacy is necessarily true as stated, but that is not a matter for the forum.

I expect that the requirements will change prior to 2023 and you will have plenty of warning of what those requirements are. My expectation is that either the time limit (270 days) will be extended or another booster will be required. Either way, this is not something to spend a great deal of worry on. Unless a situation comes up that is completely unforeseen, you should be able to travel and simply need to pay attention to the requirements a few months prior to your trip.

Thank you for your insights!

My Mom often said "Don't build a bridge to trouble!"

It will be easy enough to receive another vaccine, if necessary, and I am sure we will need to get the Visa Waiver ..

But, all good and all in good time!

It's simply not possible to know what the requirements will be for vaccination status in France — or in the United States for that matter — in 2023.

How do you show you're vaccinated? Most non-EU citizens can't get the EU greenpass. What documentation can I bring from the US that will allow me entry to museums, restaurants, etc in France and Spain? Is it possible to get the equivalent of the greenpass while I'm still in the US?

Many thanks!

Not for France, no.

There are numerous threads on this page about how to obtain a vaccine pass for France once you arrive.

You bring the white vaccination card that indicated the dates of your shots and the booster shot- hopefully you have that card...
