I am looking for a vacation rental in both the heart of Nice as well as St. Remy, for late April/early May, and would appreciate personal recommendations. The space must comfortably accommodate 3 adults—one couple and one single—and be free of stairs. Ideally, we’d like 2 bathrooms and some outdoor space, either a balcony, terrace, or garden. In Nice, we’d like to be situated blocks from shops and restaurants, as well as a tram stop; in St. Remy, we’d like to be right in the center. As for budget, we aren’t looking for luxury or bare bones, but rather, something comfortable yet comparatively reasonably priced. Please include details that will allow me to search for the specific recommended rental online. Thank you.
The core of St Rémy (inside the boulevard) is car-free, and you need a car if you stay in St Rémy, so I would stay outside the core. If you end up beyond walking distance, parking is hassle-free anyway.
For Nice, since you have a desire to have tram access, I'll give areas relative to those.
In Nice, you'll want to be in the Carre d'Or or Jean Medecin. Try south/east of the Alsace Lorraine or Jean Medecin Tram 2 stops, or in and around the Jean Medecin Tram 1 stop or secondarily, the Durandy stop (though this is further from shops). Note the underground stops all have elevators.
You can also try the Port area, near the Port and Garibaldi (south and east of) tram stops.
The Old Town itself has plenty of rentals but often they do not include elevators. Even close to the edge where the tram stops are have some steps leading up from the Old Town to the Tram area.
