Hi all,
For the past few months I have been posting questions on this forum that were in advance of a driving vacation my wife & I were planning in, primarily, the South of France. We just returned; we flew in & out of Barcelona where we rented a car and drove to Pezenas, Aix-en-Provence, Nice (where we stayed for several nights), Cannes, Eze, Monaco, St Paul de Vence, the Luberon region, L'Isle sur la Sorgue and Avignon (and then back to Barcelona where we dropped off the car and spent a couple of days).
The Rick Steves' books (Provence, Côte-d'Azur and Barcelona) and this Rick Steves' forum were invaluable for the entire wonderful experience. Specifically with regard to this forum, the advice received re: the Autoroutes/Autopistas, L'Isle sur la Sorgue market, recommendation to stay overnight in charming Pezenas, (as a "break" from the Barcelona-to-Nice drive), recommendation to stay a little longer in L'Isle sur la Sorgue as opposed to Nice, and much more, made quite a huge difference in the success of our trip.
THANKS to all of you that responded to my posted questions, to the maintainers of this site and of course to Rick Steves. :)
Regards,
Bruce Kanin
