Using the IDF mobilité app Friday matters!

I used the transit option in wallet on iPhone and got the Navigo one way RER B ticket from CDG airport to my hotel near Pont D’Alma. Now I want to add more tickets but I am not able to log in. And if you can’t log in, you can’t ask a question. I also learned that it’s cheaper to buy the weekly pass than the tourist pass but the only day to buy it is Friday. Today is Saturday! Oh boy. So I’ll likely get day tickets when I’m there. Did find I can save all my itineraries on the app including walking directions, bus and Metro.

You have this all wrong. The weekly pass is only good from Mon through Sunday and you can only buy it through Thursday for the current week. There is no pass that can only be bought on Friday. You can buy it today or could have on Friday but it would not be valid until Monday. You need to do a little homework and perhaps just get a Navigo Easy card and put some tickets on it rather than fumbling around with the app. The ratp.fr site explains this fairly well and there are lots of sites on line that do as well.

If you will be there another week then the ND weekly pass is worth getting. Just don't get a Paris Visite which is never a good financial choice.

The card you need to load a weekly pass is the Navigo Decouverte; it will load day passes, weekly passes (mon-Sun) or monthly passes (calendar month). Or the Navigo Easy which will load day passes or metro tickets and bus tickets.

If you want other than a day pass starting on Saturday, the only option is the Paris Visite. The Visite costs more, but it is a valuable choice for some. Not everyone comes to Paris on strict budgets and the Visite Pass gives you a lot of flexibility and can help avoid a lot of confusion.

If you have loaded an airport ticket onto your medium, be it Navigo card or phone app, and have not yet used the ticket, you may not be able to add additional tickets until the airport ticket is used.

I am not clear on where you are presently, it can make a difference when purchasing tickets.

Exactly. I was able to buy the one way ticket RER B ticket from CDG to Pont D'Alma, near my hotel and added that ticket to the wallet on my iPhone. No problem. Then I decided to buy a weekly pass -- not the tourist pass because they cost more!! One would expect to be able to add more tickets to the Navigo Pass on my iPhone, right? Anyway, when I attempted to buy the weekly pass on Saturday, it informed me that I had to make that purchase on Friday because the week runs from the following Monday to Sunday. So yes, I'll need to buy one-day tickets so I can use the bus and the Metro as needed. I've tried multiple times to log into the IDF account using my email and password. And it won't let me log in. And it won't send me the option to change the password. Without access to my IDF account, it's difficult to get any further information. I'll try to call them tomorrow ( Monday ) before my flight on Wednesday. It would be REALLY nice to have all these tickets purchased prior to arrival. One less thing to worry about. I've also set up most of my itineraries and saved them on the IDF app. That is quite helpful.

You can't have any other tickets on your phone if you have an airport ticket.

Just wait to buy your other tickets until you have come into town from the airport and used that ticket.
