Ditto , what Sam says . I have had good results with LEBARA sim cards . They are easily available all over Paris at tabacs and news kiosks . Simple to use and very low prices ( about 10 cents / minute as I recall ) . Look at the website for details . When you buy the card ,you will have to register it . Not to worry , you call a number in the instructions and there is an English option . The whole affair takes about five minutes .

Sorry , LEBARA was the card I first bumped into in the UK . Later , I found them in France and Germany , and never found another brand that priced as well . In recent years , they have also added data packages , but since Wi Fi is so ubiquitous now , I only use a sim card in my phone .
