US Citizen travelling to France through Heathrow

Following up on a previous topic---

If a US resident transits airside through Heathrow to Paris ( spending 4 hours in heathrow) , is he or she treated/viewed as originating in the USA or the UK.

If we were flying directly from USA to Paris the rules are understandable- vaccination proof and pcr or antigen test within 48 hours ( usa being an amber country).

Do these requirements change because are are transmitting thru London?

Thank you.

Only those who depart the UK for France are subject to the special Covid travel restrictions. Your itinerary will have already started when you reach LHR, but you must remain within LHR´s international transit zone.

Here is one of the several references explaining the travel exemption for those in transit through UK airports:

Persons transiting for less than 24 hours in an international airport zone.

The exemption is also referenced in the Movement Regulations (2.1) and stated in the Travel certificate to Metropolitan France under Compelling Reasons for travel:

Travellers in transit for less than 24 hours in an international zone.
