Uploading documents for the airlines…

I won’t be traveling for awhile.

I have been following the texts about the need to upload your passport and Covid vaccine record to the airline site prior to travel ..

Could you share how you upload the documents?

Many thanks…

You take a photo on your phone and upload the photo. WE did this for passports, CDC cards, and COVID tests for our last two trips to Paris.

The Delta FlyReady email we received prompted us to do this and provided a link to take the pic and download…..

Even more awesome!

How was your experience flying Delta?

I like the fact that they are several different seating options.

I plan that we will fly into Orly and Drlta is one of the airlines that flys from JFK to Orly.

I know they codeshare with Air France. If Air France were to go on strike - would Delta flights be affected?

Many thanks!

If CDG ground and support staff go on strike, it could potentially affect the Delta schedule.

In the event that CDG staff and support staff were to go on strike - Delta - along with all the other airlines would be affected.

Not a happy thought at all..

We plan to fly out of JFK to ORLY - could still happen ..

Well, as the saying goes hope for the best - prepare for the worst!

United requires you to scan your passport and docs into Travel Ready using their app. There is no way to download from a photo or using their website. I’m having problems with the app scanning my passport. Any one have hints? Maybe it’s a timing issue? Too soon? Flight is 76 days out. Thanks.

You take your paper documents to the airport and show them to the agent

(Sorry but the "upload" apps seem to be fairly problematic and the agents often still ask for the documents :) )

Try using a desktop or laptop. Try to add docs on my phone with the app was useless, but it worked on my laptop.

Roubrat, I only have a desktop and was told by United I can only upload passport using the app. Guess if I can’t get it to work, it’ll be a trip to the airport or a very early check in so they can scan all the info. I leave Aug 31.

On my Paris trip with Delta, we first uploaded all our various and sundries from home, and then once again the night before our return.

As I've said before, thank goodness we were in an airport hotel with strong wifi and also a front desk willing to print out documents for us.

It's not longer enough to show up at the airport with only "hard copy," everything must be uploaded beforehand. Because at any point the powers that be may take only one version, or either, or both. You use a cellphone or a tablet while on the road.

Also as I noted elsewhere, on a recent flight through Denver I was in the United club and noticing that almost every single guest had their boarding pass on their phone. I had it both ways since I'm old enough to still like the feel of paper.

FYI if you are flying United: I called because I can't upload my passport using their app. Customer service person checked with their tech support and was told passengers cannot upload before 72 hours prior to their flight. So much for trying to be prepared and proactive... but at least I now know.

We flew United a few days ago (Paris is great!) but, yes, couldn't upload until 72 hours before our flight. Scanning the passports was tricky - the app wanted the edges of the passport to line up with the frame of the picture and the bar of text at the bottom and nothing happens until it thinks it's right and there isn't too much glare. The first one was tough but it got easier with the rest of the family. And do things in order and don't hit the back button. I tried putting in the vaccination cards before the passports and ended up having to just do the vaccination cards again in the right order. I am not optimistic that it saved our information to go home, so I will probably get to do it all again.
