Greetings
Just wondered if anyone has had a god experience recently staying at or near CDG.
We have done Citizen M in the past and it was ok.
Thanks
My favorite is the Hilton as it's a nice hotel and on the little CDG VAL train so you don't have to wait on a shuttle (but they do have one )
I have done day rooms at both the Courtyard and Holiday Inn Express at CDG which are on the train but not quite as convenient as the Hilton
On paper the Sheraton looks good but my experience there several years ago was "one and done" I felt it was overpriced and in need of some TLC and staff training.
I’ve done Citizen M as well. I liked it was just a short walk.
Either AT the airport or in Paris -- Near is a hassle.
When we have done this we have used the Novotel which is steps from the RER B station and from the CDGVAL and so very convenient -- decent breakfast, quiet room, comfortable.
I’ve stayed at both Citizen M and Novotel. I was satisfied with both.
Ibis Hotel. AT the airport. I agree that near the airport is a hassle.
We stayed at the Novotel Hotel in mid-May for our Delta flight back to the US. It was fine. Very quiet and bed was comfortable.
One downside was the water in the bathroom smelled a bit like sulphur (what my grandma used to call "eggy water"). I wonder if that's true of the other hotels at CDG.
One upside is you don’t have to leave the building to get on the tram to take you to the Delta terminal (I can't remember 100% now, but I think Delta was in Terminal 3). Just exit the hotel door into the main building, and turn right to walk a bit to the free tram for quick ride. (Ignore any signs that point you OUTSIDE to the Shuttle Bus area ... yeah, we wasted at least 15 minutes doing that, before we found a person who spoke English and told us to go back inside the building! We wish we had asked the hotel staff to point us in the right direction that morning before we checked out. Live and learn!)
We stayed at Appart City Hotel Roissy a few weeks ago. We parked our rental car there and returned it when we went for our flight. The room was large and clean and the hotel was quiet. The restaurant was good.
There are two Ibis hotels at Roissy so it is a little confusing. We stayed at the Ibis Styles and the key for the room was hard to use.
Going back some time we stayed at the Novotel - we had 2 nights at the end of our trip and used it as a base for a final visit of Paris before leaving. It was a very comfortable stay and easy to get into the airport. There is also an outpost of Marks and Spencer for a late-night chocolate fix :) . Rooms were unexceptional in decor and size but I don't expect personality from an airport hotel!

We stay at the Novotel at CDG 2 years ago and it worked out perfectly. We arrived by train at noon on a Saturday, dropped off our bags, and took the RER into Paris. We were able to visit Sainte Chappel and took a wonderful dinner cruise, returning to the hotel at night, and took our flight out in the morning. It was our first experience in Paris and inspired us to return for a longer visit last fall. It couldn't have gone smoother.
HI Everyone
I thought I had replied to all of your ideas which are very much appreciated.
We decided to do Citizen M again and see how it may be different now that it's owned by Marriott. We will be staying this week.
Thanks Everyone!!
