I had got a rental car in Nice and had a traffic violation email from the rental company. They charged me 19 euros for passing my information to the police station, but the address they gave to the Police is in China and I am not even able to receive the violation notice.
I have contacted the Rental Company Sixt see if they can contact the police to update my address(to Spain or Australia), but they told me it was against their company policy to contact the police. I did also contact the police see if they can do anything for me, they told me I need to ask the Sixt to contact them directly since they can access the file since i am not the owner of the car. So my situation became so awkward that I am willing to pay the fine but I have no way to receive the fine.
Did anyone face this situation before and a possible solution to it? Like which authority I should contact, email or phone I can make.
