Un an a Versailles card

Hi,
I purchased a duo ticket for upcoming trip to Versailles. My understanding from the ticketing website when purchasing is that subscription holders do not need timed entry, but other places on the website say even those who qualify for “free” admission need to book a timed entry slot. However, I can’t find anywhere to book the timed entry for those already holding a duo card,

Can anyone who has used such a ticket provide insight?

Lisa,
Please explain what you mean by a duo ticket or duo card. And did you use the actual Versailles website or a second party website to purchase your ticket? What exactly do you understand "subscription holders" to mean? I am a bit confused.
Please excuse my ignorance, but my understanding is that all visitors must have a timed entry, no matter how you buy your ticket. Perhaps someone else on the forum can explain this.

P.S. I don't understand your topic title. Can you please clarify for this old lady? Thanks.

I have not purchased a "1 An à Versailles" card.

But, reading the FAQ, it sounds like you just present your ticket/subscription pass for entry. Technically you do not qualify for "free" admission since you have actually purchased an annual admission.

Jeanne has linked to an English language explanation.
No, you don’t have to choose a time online. Just show up. But you will need to go through the security line like everyone else. Other venues with one-year cards have separate doors or lines to get through security that cardholders can use which speeds up entry. I see no mention of a special line for getting through security for the one-year cards, so that’s what you should ask about because that’s where the holdups exist. But there is no mention of timed reservations.
Those of us with cards for the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay and Orangerie just show up.

Thanks all for the replies.

Judy, there is an option on the Versailles website to buy a one year subscription that gives unlimited visits to the Chateau, as well as the Trianon, and musical gardens for one year. The duo card allows the subscription holder and one guest entry. Cost for the duo card is €98. Since my husband and I plan to visit over two days, it was a good option for us.

Lisa,
Thanks for the explanation. It's been some years since my last visit to Versailles, and I don't think somer of these options existed back then. Good to know!
