UBER in Lyon?

Can anyone tell me if Uber is available at the Lyon Airport? Has anyone used it before? Your experience? TIA!

Sorry -- I can't help you with that. I've never used Uber anywhere.

I'm curious though, why you would want to use such a service. The airport is served by taxicabs and by a tram that is very convenient.

A quick Google search for "Uber Lyon" indicates that according to Uber it is available at the Lyon airport.

You can always look in the app to see what the actual availability and service looks like -- change your pickup location to the Lyon airport and type in your destination, though of course be careful to not actually order the ride.

Thanks! I did Google it. I wanted to be sure because when reading about Uber in other parts France it seems to be nonexistent. Also, I ask for any feedback when using it in Lyon.

Which also applies to the tram, except for the private part. I actually would prefer mass transit rather than some cigarette smoke-saturated private car, but each to his or her own. The air conditioning on the tram is nice in the summer as well. Free wifi too.

You are familiar with the traffic congestion in Lyon, aren't you? It's pretty impressive coming in from LYS. In other words, don't count too heavily on the "quick" part. The tram, which operates on its own dedicated tracks, isn't bothered by traffic.

Never used Uber at the airport, but used it in town without issues - it is hard to get a regular taxi in Lyon anyways. Do mind that the airport is far away in Lyon, I'd reckon on 60 euros to the presqu'île. If there's no more than two of you, I'd have a look at the express tram.

I've never used Uber, but I think those are the same reasons many of my friends use it.

If you're going straight to the center of Lyon, I think the tram would be your best bet unless you have a lot of luggage, or there are several of you. The tram is comfortable, although it's not cheap. I liked the old bus line that ran to the airport until the tram began.
