UBER from CDG airport?

A colleague of mine suggestion I UBER from the airport to my rental...is UBER used frequently in Paris? I live in a small town /don't use UBER except during travel to larger cities. I have been given great directions from my rental host on using the train-however, I recently experienced a back injury and our trip is in less than a month...I am dreading the 10hr flight on my back and want an easy way from the airport to the rental without having to lift luggage around too much. Our flat is on the 5th floor so I will have to be doing some lifting at that point.

Uber is frequently used in Paris, but not as much at the airport, because Uber drivers do not have access to taxi pick-up areas.
Therefore, you should take a regular taxi. To do so, when you arrive, follow the signs and ignore anyone who asks you if you need a taxi (those are either scammers or expensive motorbike taxi drivers). Fares to the city of Paris are fixed: 55 euros to points north of the Seine ("right bank", e.g. Opéra) and 62 euros to points south ("left bank", e.g. Montparnasse).

Why was an Uber recommended over a taxi? The taxis are easy and have a fixed price. I don't know if Uber prices are fixed. For a taxi, you go to the designated Taxi Stand at the airport. My experience is that the taxi driver always loads our luggage and then unloads it at our destination.

You really want to take taxis from the airports. Fares are fixed, only taxis have access to the bus lanes, and a taxi will get you to your Paris destination faster than any other vehicle option.

Be sure to go to the official taxi departure points and do not accept offers from those soliciting from within the terminals. Taxi drivers are not tipped.

For your return trip to CDG, if that is where you are flying out, then you have options of UBER, BOLT or G7. G7 has an App, a website, or you can call the night before, English speaking operators if need be, and schedule your pick up. They charge 7 Euros for the reservation and then the set rate. UBER, BOLT and the other commercial services for the most part cost more.

Enjoy your trip.

I would recommend FreeNow before uber, but I find Bolt has more interesting pricing.
