Two questions about Paris during Olympics

I have olympic tix and trying very hard not to be freaked out by the bedbug issue, I am pressing on and looking to book a hotel.

Curious for any thoughts on staying on Montparnasse and specifically at Hotel Mistral. Train times to Roland Garros and various soccer stadiums are about 40 mins. All bookings during olympics are non-refundable, so appreciate any affirmation before I book it!

Also, we are considering flying in and out of Amsterdam (cheaper fares from Boston and opportunity to see Amsterdam), but train bookings to / from Paris are not yet available for reservations. I'm hoping it's just because they haven't released train schedules yet for 7 months out. Can I be confident that I'll be able to get train reservations to/from Amsterdam & Paris?

Thank you!

You could always fly Amsterdam to Paris.

Flight is about hour and a half but remember you have to get to the airport from your Amsterdam accommodation and the same when you land in Paris. Nearly a dozen flights to choose from.

Its the Olympics. More people everywhere.

Thalys can be booked several months out and it is MUCH cheaper when tickets are first released. I'd start checking 5 mos out

First congratulations for grabbing olympic tix! Second, know that during the olympics will be expensive, everywhere. Just be careful of your phones and your wallet in any crowded area.

No one will[ remember anything about bed bugs come next summer.

Flying into/out of AMS will be a be headache if your destination is Paris. Train schedules are released up to 6 months in advance but that leaves a big unknown in your travel planning.

Yes, you are looking at train tickets way too early. Currently you can buy tickets from Eurostar for trips in mid-March, but nothing later than that. I would not worry about being able to get train tickes to Paris.
