Two hour train layover in Dol en Bretagne

I plan to take the train from Bayeux to Dinan, which will involve a 2 hour layover in Dol. Can I lock up luggage at the trains station? Are there any sights I can see in Dol within my time frame?

Hi,
There aren't any lockers at Dol, there are few left luggage facilities in French stations in general. Can't advise about sights.

You could bite the bullet and take a 20 minute cab ride to your destination instead of waiting two hours for the next train.

A few years ago I passed through Dol-de-Bretagne and it looks not directly a bad place to walk around a bit. In case you want to wait for the next train you can always have a drink somewhere and ask if they are so kind storing your luggage for the two hours. TI is next to the cathedral and about a half hour walking south-east from the railway station there is a huge menhir to see.

You might want to contact the tourist information center ([email protected]) and see if they can hold luggage for you for a couple of hours. The cathedral is worth seeing and it's a cute little town. I stayed near there a few years ago but I had a car and did not have any reason to visit the train station but I'm pretty sure that very few stations in France have luggage storage anymore. With only 2 hours and wanting to be back at the station in time for the connecting train, I don't think I'd spend the time walking to the menhir, although it is pretty cool (if you're totally into that).

Thank you all for your helpful replies. Rather than drag even small (Rick Steves roller) suitcases around for the 2.5 hour wait, I may end up taking the cab. We're traveling until Sept., so plenty of time to look at alternatives.
