three travelers wil be in Paris for several days and in the middle of the trip would like to take a side trip to Normandy and Mont Saint Michael. I am looking for recommendations of a tour company or best way to do that

To put it in American perspective, you might say this is like being based in Los Angeles and wanting to take a 2-day side trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Or being based in New York City and wanting to take a 2-day side trip to Lake Champlain and Niagara Falls. (OK, I didn't measure the distances, but you get the idea.) It can be done, but it wouldn't be very enjoyable.

We took the train from Paris to Bayeaux where we had a b&b reservation. We contracted in advance for a tour of Mt St Michel , and a private tour of Normandy- highly recommended .

We looked at all the things we wanted to see and do in both locations and wound up spending five nights in Normandy in 2013, postponing our first trip to Paris until 2018, when we could give it eight nights.

As far as tour companies go I heartily recommend Dale Booth. Book with him first because you will have to plan your trip dates around his availability.

jyoung78 How many days did you spend in Normandy? Did you stay in Bayeux for Mont St-Michel as well?
Can anyone recommend a hotel in Bayeux? We are flying into Paris on a Monday early morning and are thinking of going straight to Normandy before heading back to Paris. How many days do we need for Normandy as well as a visit to Mont St-Michel?

If you can only do a day trips to Normandy. Here are two companies I would recommend. Paris City Vision and City Wonders. Both based in Paris. Normandy does deserve multiple days, if possible. We did a one day tour a few years ago and now we are heading back for 4 days and staying in Bayeux. We will train from Paris to Bayeux and we’ve hired a private guide. There are two companies that I would recommend in the region of Normandy, Overlord Tours and Normandy Siteseeing Tours. Both came highly recommended and I’ve hired Overlord and my friend used they other and said they were great! Good luck with your travel plans and enjoy.

I went to MSM a couple of years ago. It was a great disappointment, as the new road that has replaced the tidal causeway has changed its feel of the place. The shops are full of tourist tat and the restaurants aren’t as good as elsewhere.

There is plenty to see in Normandy to fill your time without visiting MSM.
