Our credit card won’t go thru to complete purchase of our train tix. Yes, we know it’s tricky w/American credit cards…we’ve checked w/our bank-no problem there. We tried SNCF and another Trainline.
Any hints from anyone?
Please & Thank you

It's a bit strange that Trainline doesn't work neither. This makes me really believe it is your credit card (assuming VISA?)
Otherwise a few hints (for SNCF):
If using Chrome, try another webbrowser
Try the app instead of the website
And just know SNCF will only accept a maximum booking value of around €150+ per day or €300+ a week on any one foreign credit card. Also, if a card is rejected for any reason, their website may automatically reject that card again if it is used within the next 24 hours, so you may have to wait.
Agree with post above. We use Trainline often using our US based Visa card, and find it user friendly, never have a problem. Have you tried a different credit card?
I assume you. have tried this, but clear your cookies, try a different browser, use a different computer -- and see if any of that helps. Sometimes it does. We have not had this sort of problem recently but have in the past and sometimes just switching to a different computer did the trick.
My husband and I have had this problem yesterday too. He couldn't buy a 2nd ticket in a day so I bought our return ticket. But neither of us could buy one for Sunday. He contacted our bank and it's not on their end.
So if you have a card one of you haven't used I'd try that . Or if you both have the app the other one of you try.
I haven’t had any problems using my U.S. credit card for train tickets. I’m in France now and bought tickets before I left home for two longer distance trains and locally I’m buying more regional train tickets the day of. Have you tried an alternative credit card?
Edited to add that I bought the tickets through the SNCF Connect app.
I bought my SNCF tickets from my laptop using my CapOne Debit, no issue but did get a security pop up that I had to authorize, but no issue. And this was just a couple of months ago.
One Data Point: I recently bought on SNCF tickets from Paris to Nice, using my Chase Sapphire Visa Card. It asked for "verify by Visa" code sent to my mobile number and then went through after inputting the code
