We are trying to book tickets/entry time slot for an upcoming trip. We have tried to booking tickets on the Orsay website and we have had two different cards declined in the dual authentication step by the bank. There is a warning on the Orsay web site about fraudulent sites, which may explain why bank cards are declining. We had one card that texted asking after the fact if this was a valid charge, but had already declined the purchase. Then the Orsay site locked me out for failed attempts. Has anyone had any recent success booking tickets?
Try another website like FNAC for tickets. The reason is most likely due to your bank declining the purchase. In theory, your next try should have worked.
You might try booking on another device such as a phone or tablet or using a different browser. Sometimes that will do the trick.
I am having the same issue repeatedly. The page is also giving me an error message. Has anyone resolved this issue?
I spent 40 minutes on the phone with Citibank live so they could override their decline so we could buy tickets and a time slot. They tried 3 times with no joy, exhausting their tools to over-ride it. The Orsay web site locked me out again at this point and I just gave up. They thought Citi had a hard block on the web site.
Seeing the Orsay is a priority so I looked for a 3rd party option. I found a couple that only were a few dollars extra/and ended up booking with Tiquets.
We had a similar experience with Orsay tickets! After reading the forums, we took the steps to make sure we had the "verified by Visa" process completed with our credit card company and even then, when attempting to purchase tickets, and using the Visa provided code, the charges still wouldn't go through. After several calls to the card company we ultimately ended up with someone in their fraud department who informed us that because the Musee d'Orsay website has had so much fraud associated with it (bad links and fake sites being created from it) Visa has stopped allowing purchases of tickets from their site. Ugh!! Since Pay Pal and Discover are not options on the Orsay site, we are now debating either going to the Musee d'Orsay upon arrival in Paris this Spring and purchasing the tickets in person or possibly purchasing a Paris Museum Pass in advance of our trip and taking our chances with getting into the Orsay at some point over the 5 days we are there.
Had the same issue and after calling banks and multiple tries, I was locked out. Traveling companions tried and it went through. I was using Citibank.
The website was working today and i was able to book using an American Express card
