Trip to Strasbourg in September

My wife and I, both in our 70's, are planning to visit Strasbourg for about 4 days in the latter part of September 2023. We will not have a car. We would like to stay in an apartment, if possible, so we can have some meals there. Also, would like to be within walking distance of the old part of the city, unless there is good public transportation to get there. Have looked on VRBO, but it looks like almost all the apartment have a lot of stairs, which is hard at our age. Anyone have any suggestions? We could do a B&B (gite), but when I looked at those there were a lot of stairs also. Thanks. Peter

We stayed at a Best Western in a very central location and it was wonderful. Perhaps you’ll need to the same as you aren’t finding what you want. Taste Flambé is popular in Strasbourg, a tart, like a pizza so a simple meal out.

I know this may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but the AARP website has a feature for searching for accessible hotels, some with discounts for members. Also, a ham and cheese crêpe from a street vendor makes for a nice inexpensive meal. Then, there’s always picnicking Rick Steves-style.

Also, I just searched on “airbnb strasbourg elevator” and came up with a couple of possibilities for rental apartments with elevator access. Perhaps worth a try?
