Just returned from a great trip to Paris! Almost missed the overseas flight due to a delay at the first airport. Was luckily able to barely make it. We arrived a day early to try one of the restaurants in the Eiffel tower. The food was good but expensive; but also just seemed fun to eat at the Eiffel tower once. Then we saw the Louvre which was great timing as things were about to start closing due to the heat. Very glad the Hotel Londres Eiffel had AC. Excellent tour guide in Daniela who kept things light and helped set up a tour bus of the city and a cheese/dessert/oyster tasting as some things were closed due to heat (Louvre, Saint Chapelle) . Also we got notice that the D'Orsay would not take groups but we got individual tickets on the day of the tour. The tour overall was great and I feel much more comfortable with the Metro after the tour.
There have been some threads about food. We had several options to choose from for entree, plat principal, and dessert for the first two dinners, then the last was preselected on the river cruise. All were delicious.
Glad you enjoyed your tour!
