Trip help for 3 day in Paris and is Walking VS Metro better to see places France

Hi
Planning to see the following during our 3 day trip to Paris. Staying in 7th arrondisement.
Does the following trip make sense distance wise. For eg is it better to go to Arc de triomphe from Louvre or go to Arc de truiomphe from Eiffel tower. Here is what I came up with (pardon my typos please)
Day 1; Eiffel tower, Arc de triomphe, Champs Elysees, Louvre museum ...end the day with Seine river cruise,
Day 2: Montmartre, the basilica, Luxembourg gardens, Lafayette galleries.
Day 3: Palace Versailles.

Planning to travel by Metro, hence want to use the Metro money smartly to access these places.
If anything is walkable and less than 1 mile, we could.

Our first time in Europe.

Thanks

The grouping of attractions in close proximity to one another looks good. Taking the metro will help you get around quicker and gives your legs a rest. Buying a carnet of 10 metro tickets cuts the per-ticket price. For Versailles you need to buy a RER Line C ticket which is not the same as a metro ticket. The cost to Versailles is about €5 each way. The train station “Versailles Chateau-Rive Gauche” is the closest to the Palace of Versailles which is a 10-minute walk from the train station. In central Paris you can board a RER line C train at St. Michel-Notre Dame, Musee D’Orsay, Invalides and Champs de Mar, among others stations.
Try to be at the popular Versailles Palace a bit ahead of opening time which is 9am because the tour groups and other visitors absolutely mob the ticket office and entrance once it opens.

Just a note, I believe they are no longer selling the paper Carnet. You could still buy paper tickets, but you do not get the 10 ticket discount anymore. You can buy a Navigo Easy card and put 10 tickets on it. I believe the card cost about two euros.

One other warning. If you do go with the paper ticket, do not throw it away until you have left the metro. You do not have to use it to get out but if you selected for review by authorities, you will be fined. ( And no they don’t do this just to tourists . They do it to everyone. )
