Trip from Paris to Chateau Chenonceau

What's the tried and true way to get from Paris to Chenonceau? Which train station do we leave from... what station do we get off on? Direct or connections? Can we take the fast train? Do we need to reserve train tickets in advance or can we buy on the day we visit? Thank you!

You can take a train from Paris Montparnasse station to Chenonceaux Chisseau station with one connection at St. Pierre-des-Corps in 1 hour 40 minutes. The first section is by fast TGV train, which offers good advance-purchase discounts, but tickets can also be purchased a day or two ahead at an SNCF Boutique (ticket office) in Paris; or at the station on the day of departure for about $75 one way, if the train's not full.

How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it, but doesn't sell these tickets.
Rick’s France rail travel page has the link and tips for buying “Prems” rate TGV tickets through SNCF (cheap, reserved, nonrefundable, available three or four months ahead of your travel date) to print at home and pay with PayPal. It does not tend to work with US credit cards, unless you have an extra level of security set up.

One last question... When looking at SNCF website, the options are:
Paris Montparnasse 1 ET 2
Paris Montparnasse 2 pasteur
Paris Montparnasse 3 Vaugirard
Paris Montparnasse Noctilien

Which is the right station?
