We are visiting first time to Paris in July with family and want to stay in central. Please help for hotel to choose any area which is convenient for us. I can afford 200 to 300 US$/night. Thanks for your help

Hard to know what area would be convenient for you - since we don't know what your plans are. How big is your family? How many adults and children?

You can look on booking.com. com and use their filters to select your preferred areas and price point. If there are 4 or more of you, and especially if you'll be there for more than a couple of days, you might want to consider renting an apartment.

We have 2 adult and 3 childs. I have checked in booking.com but I am not familiar the areas that's why I have confused to pick the hotel as this is my first trip to Paris.

Unfortunately, you are going at a very crowded, therefore expensive, time of the year. Many of the more affordable hotels in the typical tourist areas ( 1st -7th arrondissements) will likely already be booked. Plus, rooms for 5 will be very scarce. You'll likely need to go further out. Use Google maps to double check hotel locations, once you find some that meet your needs. If you can find one close to one of the Metro stops, it will make seeing the sites much easier, even if you're out closer to the peripherique ( the ring road around central Paris.) Once you find a few likely places, run them past us, if you like. We've got a few generous souls who live in Paris and can give their opinion.

I found some of the following hotels in booking.com. All are expensive except Hotel De Suede Saint Germain but I think this Hotel has not in busy/attractive location but price is good.

Hotel des Nations Saint Germain
Hotel De Suede Saint Germain
Hotel Claude Bernard Saint-Germain
Tonic Hôtel du Louvre

The hotel seems to be in a safe quiet street, but is also reasonably close to restaurants and shops of St Germain. Luxembourg Gardens, which are delightful for children, are also close by.

If your guidebooks aren't giving you much help on Paris areas and you find because of pricing and/or availability you must search outside of central Paris this website might help you get a better idea of Paris neighborhoods. Yes, staying outside of the central area will eat up some time, but not much as Paris' excellent transportation system makes almost every area easily accessible.

Hi, I have searched with different websites and found the following hotels and these hotels have good rates for family rooms. I got these rates from Hotels. Any recommendations on these hotels? Is any hotel located in good area and close to metro, shopping, food areas.

hotel excelsior latin - 266 Euro/night
hotel garance paris - 195 Euro/night
Hotel des Nations Saint Germain - 198 Euro/night

Hotel des Nations Saint Germain’s largest room is a quad. It may not need to be said but in the interest of avoiding an issue, you must be extremely clear when booking about the number of people in the party. It’s not like the US where you can often get a minor into a room even if you did not disclose that fact when booking. If you can get one of the Hotel Excelsior Latin’s family room that houses 5 people for the price you quote in July, run don’t walk to book it. I literally mean it. Don’t waste anymore time looking because it will be gone soon.

Thanks. I have booked Hotel des Nations Saint Germain for 4 nights. I will travel to other country after 4 nights stay and will return back in Paris after 4 days to take flight from Paris and will stay 1 night. I have only found the following hotels which has quadruple room and price is reasonable. Please advise on these hotels which is located in good location.

Timhotel Le Louvre
Hotel Saint Andre Des Arts
Tonic Hotel Du Louvre
Novotel Paris Les Halles
