travelling from Beaune to Paris airport

I am trying to get car service from Beaune to Paris airport for 4 people and was given a quote of 800 E. Does anyone know of any car service companies that I can get a better quote from. Seems like a high price but I would like to compare!

If you are referring to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (and not Orly), the €800 fare is roughly equivalent to the usual taxi fare for this journey (€2.24/km), which takes from 3.5 hours to over 4.5 hours in heavy traffic.

You can contact other transportation services in Beaune, such as Uber or similar services (known as VTCs in France), to inquire about their rates.

Here are two examples:

Again, assuming CDG, you can get a train with one change in Lyon, 3 - 4 hours, from 80 euros

Since the car service will probably return empty from CDG to Beaune, and the distance is over 200 miles (334 KM), 800 euros doesn't seem excessive to me. The time for the car to go and return to Beaune will be 7-9 hours, a full day. That is about 11-12 euros per hour for the driver....not an excessive wage IMO. I would definitely take the train.

ncdagg,
I am curious...Is the trip from Beaune to CDG on the same day your flight departs? If so, I would rethink this, as any problem with traffic or even with the train could contribute to missing your flight. Please don't underestimate the distances and times involved in your travels. Just a friendly caution.

Always be in the town of departure for a high stakes flight the night before.

I'd take the train or bus/train from Beaune and spend the last night in Paris and take the train to the airport 4 hours before the flight.

Back in July, janettravels suggested that you go directly to your destination first since arrival day is lost time after a long flight, and stay in Paris second so you’d be in place for your flight back to the US. That’s still the best advice to make the most of your time.
