Traveling to Paris

Hi! I'm buying Metro tickets on my iphone. I know I can buy tickets 6 days in advance via the RATP app. Do I need to put the date in -- or if I'm purchasing 2-3 tickets, can I use them any time during the week that I've bought tickets for? When I try to go through the steps on my iphone, I'm not seeing the step for putting in the date--but maybe I don't need to.
Also, with the strikes this month, is it likely that Musee D'Orsee will be closing also on the 11th or 18th?

Thanks so much for your thoughts on both of these questions!

You do not need dates for individual tickets. You need dates for certain passes. Once you have the tickets on you phone, you just use your phone like a transit card and scan the reader. Bus tickets cost less than metro tickets and they are not interchangeable.

Thanks so much! I'd seen this, but it helps a great deal for this to be confirmed! Do you know which passes you'd need dates for? A weekly or monthly pass? Thanks again!

Also, do you (or anyone else) have a sense of whether it's likely that Musee d'Orsay will be shutting down on a day when there are transportation strikes? Should I avoid getting tickets for that day? Thanks again!

Why would a museum shut down for a transportation strike??

Because it is not solely a transportation strike.

It is across various sectors.
