Traveling to France by car and QR Code

Hi,

I am traveling to Milan from JFK on September 16th. Then we are supposed to rent a car a couple of days later and drive from milan to Paris. We applied for the QR code like many others, and I have read the many stories. One thing I am unsure of is about the flights. We only provided our departing flight from France, since we are entering by car. Has anyone else had the same circumstances and had any luck with getting the code? Thank you for any info or updates :-)

The European Covid certificates work across Europe, so you don't need a French certificate. Just carry and continue to use your Italian certificate.

If you are concerned go back in under the edit function and add information to the text box briefly outlining your trip plan.

My experience earlier this week is that they will ask for clarification if something doesn’t make sense or if information isn’t in the right format.

Just to repeat: I assume you already have organised your Italian Green card. That is all you need.

We are completing a similar itinerary the end of September and I have the same question about the French Health Pass application. We applied for the French Health Pass so we don't have to take covid tests every few days in France. We fly into Rome first on the 26th and then travel to France after about 2 weeks. For the French Health Pass, we provided our plane tickets for travel to Italy from the USA and bus tickets for travel across the border into France. We fly out of Paris back to the United States. We have not received our French health passes yet. Note: I don't believe a US citizen traveling as a foreign tourist to Italy can receive the Italian Green Pass, but our CDC card is the equivalent for Italy from what I read.

The CDC cards will work in most places and Italy and most places in France. You may find it works everywhere you go, but there is no telling where it might not work. I have a Belgian friend with the Belgian equivalent of a CDC card (but for complicated reasons no pass sanitaire) and she is refused entry to restaurants about 50% of the time.

You should apply for the Italian Green Card and continue to use that throughout Europe.
