We are thinking of going straight to Bayeux when we arrive in Paris and are wondering about the best way to do that. Should we take the RER to the train station and take the train to Bayeux? Has anybody made a direct trip from the CDG airport to Bayeux? Thank you.
There are no direct rail services from CDG to Bayeux. Trains leave from Gare St Lazare in central Paris, which is not on the direct RER line from the airport. The fastest route is by RER line B from CDG to Gare du Nord, then walk through to Magenta station, which is linked to Nord by a subway (ETA: I use "subway" in the British English sense of "underground passage"), and take RER line E to St Lazare.
An alternative route which is slower but requires less changes is to take the non-stop Roissybus bus service from CDG to the old Opera house, which is within walking distance of St Lazare as long as you don't have too much luggage.
Thank you for the information.
