traveling from Paris to Verdun via rental car

I'm looking for some input as my fiance and I will be traveling from Paris to Verdun via rental car.. and I'm hoping ya'll can shed some light.

Outside of the difference in tolls..is there anything to see in taking N4 to the A4 vs just taking the A4 in the direction of Verdun?

Also, outside of renting a car from Orly, is there maybe a better place to rent from that might be less expensive and is open on a Sunday?
