We have an upcoming trip to Paris booked for 4/10-4/19 with a few nights being in London. Just wondering what sources everyone else is keeping up with to determine safety for travel in the coming months related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Obviously, there are no other western European nations directly involved at this time, however, my husband and I are a little anxious about traveling in the middle of such an unpredictable situation and trying to keep up to date.

These are smart steps to take when traveling at any time. You never know when you might need the US embassy’s help.
Hi Morgan,
We get news from various news media on our IPad which keeps us up to date on the world. We are going to Italy for a month in late April and are not worried. We never know what tomorrow will bring and there is no use worrying about it. We are going to live our lives and regroup if necessary. As my mother used to say “Why borrow trouble.”
I’ll be in Paris about the same time and will be staying in France for 2 weeks then going to Belgium and Netherlands for 2 weeks. No plans to change right now. I’m older and lost nearly 2 years of travel with the pandemic so am making up for it now.
I’m turning off the TV when possible. Maybe I’ll watch the first 5 minutes to see if anything big has happened and then turn it off.
I’m watching Rick to see if he cancels any tours. I trust him to have a good feel for things based on his network of guides and also to be honest and forthright in dealing with his tour customers.
I feel like the State Department over reacts although I do sign up for STEP notifications. On that you’ll get messages if there are any demonstrations in Paris that residents just ignore as they are unlikely to turn violent.
Go, have a wonderful time. Support Western Europe as tourism reopens. Do not let friends who don’t travel talk you out of going.
There is absolutely nothing to suggest that, in reference to Ukraine, you are safer in the US than you are in France.
The French have the right to demonstrate, it's in their Constitution, and they regularly exercise this right. Demonstrations are not inherently dangerous, and they are very easily avoided.
We will be in Paris in April as well. So far, there is nothing currently that would make us change their plans.
I will be in Paris mid to late April then on to Sweden. I am a tad anxious. I am not concerned about myself I just don’t want to appear tone deaf to the situation. Thank you all for the reassurance
We will also be in Paris at that time! We are thrilled to be back traveling again. The only thing we did change because of the current situation (Covid and the Ukraine) is we moved our reservation from an airbnb to a hotel with a highly regarded concierge service. Makes us feel better about getting information we might need.
We arrive in Paris on April 17th for a week. I can’t wait!
