Travel to CDG airport via RER B from St Michel ND station

We will be traveling to CDG on 2/22 from Paris. We are staying on Ile Staint-Louis. I believe the St Michel ND station to be the closest RER station. Just to confirm is the main entrance to this station at Place Saint-Michel? We will have to taxi there.... can the tickets be purchased in the station prior to the day of travel? Apologize in advance if these are elementary inquiries, just need some reassurance and input. We have checked this out on line and walked to the satellite entrance of the RER on the Notre Dame side but this seemed difficult to negotiate with luggage. Thank you.

The official métro map is here: https://www.ratp.fr/sites/default/files/plans-lignes/Plans-essentiels/Plan-Metro.pdf
Yes, Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame is the nearest station on RER line B, which is the one that starts at Charles de Gaulle airport. Pont Marie on line 7 is probably closer, but that would involve changing lines, and the extra walk and steps would remove any advantage.
RER is part of Paris' suburban rail system, you just buy a ticket and get on the next train. It is a standard price to central Paris (€10.30 per person), which includes interchange to any métro station in Paris city, if you want to.

This map shows the area, and the two entrances, I don't think it matters which entrance you emerge at: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/48.85277/2.34890

Some here will suggest getting a taxi, there is a fixed price to Paris city (€50 or €55), it is up to you, depending on how mobile you are with your luggage.

You can get the tickets any time that is convenient at any metro station from a machine; they are 10.30 Paris/Aeroporto CDG tickets. They are usable forever. I like to have them a day ahead so there is no fumbling around the day of travel.

Note that not all RER B trains go to the airport; it will be obvious if the particular train is heading there on the electronic signs that announce the next trains. It is not difficult to get the right train, you just have to be aware to check. CDG is the end point of the train you want. Some RER Bs split and go elsewhere. And there are two stops at CDG so you need to know which one is most convenient for your terminal. There is an intra airport continuous transport if you err.

There are also two entrances at the intersection across from Place Saint Michel fountain. They are located on the corners on either side of the Pont Saint-Michel (Bridge) & Quai Saint-Michel. I always enjoy walking past Notre Dame from Ile. Saint-Louis on my way to Saint-Michel Metro & RER stop.

Jane, thanks for mentioning the two stops at CDG. How does one know which stop is best? I’m departing from terminal three but in general, is it noted on the train destination sign?

I believe the first stop serves Terminals 1 and 3 and the second stop serves Terminal 2 and the TGV station.

Here is link but I believe the first stop is terminal 3and the second stop at the RER between terminal 1 & 2.. Also not to complicate things the entrance to the RER at place Saint-Michael is closed, There is a small elevator at Rue Xavier Privas to access this line. After downstairs One side to CDG the other side to Orly. Plus I do not think this line is working this weekend to CDG for scheduled repairs!
