Travel "Passports" in Paris

I understand that there is a Paris tourist travel "Passport" that one may buy for a different number of days while there-----any advice ? If so, we would be interested in them for 2-3 days. Thank you for any help.

Probably referring to the 'Paris Pass' which encompasses more than just museum entries and is advertised as 'your sightseeing pass to Paris'. For many people it makes more sense to just get the museum pass and take care of the other things that are included separately, as many of those inclusions are not of interest to them - such as the hop-on hop-off buses and discounts to other venues. It can be a bit pricey and may not be worth it in the end but worth looking into if you're new to Paris.

Thank you Nancy------most helpful ! You are right; it is expensive. We are more interested in the travelling kind of pass------the Metro, buses, etc. What do you recommend ? Cheers, Jim W.

James, Paris By Train, https://parisbytrain.com, is a great resource of information on traveling within and out of Paris. I currently use the Navigo Decourverte Pass because my time in Paris lines up with the Monday - Sunday use of it. I will be recharging mine when I arrive in Paris in November this year.

If you’re just there for 2-3 days, sharing a carnet of metro tickets (sets of 10 for about 17 €) is usually the most cost effective choice.

The Museum Pass is typically a good deal, and we enjoyed stopping in a few for 20 minutes that turned out to be very interesting and we would have missed, otherwise.

If you are asking about transportation, many people find individual tickets t+ meet their needs. They are now electronic, being part of the Navigo Easy card (2€) plus 10 tickets t+ (14.60€).

If you want a more comprehensive solution, travel details are essential.

I would avoid all the packaged passes/passport offers. You will pay a sizable premium for what you could otherwise purchase individually.

The museum pass has changed in recent years, entry is often limited to one time per pass and you still must reserve at many museums, just like individual ticket holders. Most people really should save their money.

The hottest museum visit this year will be the newly reopened Musée Carnavalet which does not charge admission.

Third trip--it better be open.

It is open, and still free, however you do need timed reservations.
