Travel Pass for towns near Paris

My sister and I plan to stay at a hotel in Senlis for 4 nights in late September and sightsee around the area. We plan on going to Chantilly and also take some trips into Paris. That will involve riding buses and some trains. I am comfused by the variety of passes. Which one would be the best to buy? Later on we will go to Colmar, but we will probably just buy a ticket for that because we will continue on to Switzerland. Thank you for your help!

There is no transit pass for the trip to Colmar so your plan to buy a ticket is a good one. I do not want to question your plans, but it makes little sense to stay in Senlis, a town with no train station, if you plan "some" trips to Paris during a 4-day stay. Buy a bus ticket for your trip to Chantilly. The way that I know to get from Senlis to Paris is to take the bus to Chantilly and then take a SNCF train from there to Paris. As far as I know, there is no transit pass for that. I guess you could buy a France Rail pass for those trips but you should price it out to see if it is in fact cheaper than just buying daily tickets. I don't think that it will be.

Senlis and Chantilly are outside the ile de France so none of the Paris travel passes work there. Senlis has no train station and is not a great base without a car. There is a bus to Chantilly where you can catch a train.

What passes are you thinking about?

Thank you for your comments. I know there is no train to Senlis, but a bus goes there from the airport. We were thinking about staying in Senlis because the hotel rates are cheaper than in Chantilly and nearer Paris and it is supposed to be a pretty town. We also wanted to visit the Chateau in Chantilly. We will be meeting a group at the airport after our time in Senlis to go on a riverboat
cruise on the Seine River to the Normandy area.

Senlis is a pretty town but it being closer to Paris than Chantilly is probably unimportant given that you have to go to Chantilly to get the train to Paris.
