Travel in Paris on day of Tour de France finale

We will be in Paris he day the Tour de France ends in Paris. Well actually, we will START the day in Paris, but will be taking a day trip to Normandy. Our meeting point for the tour will be at the Trocadero, but I just wonder how much the race will impact travel. The tour leaves at 7:00 AM, so I would not expect it to be much of an issue at that time of day, but I've never even been to Paris, much less on the day of the race, so have no idea.

You should have no problem at that location even during the race. The race will probably not enter Paris until around 2:00. I went to watch the race in Paris and the only problem with crowds was along the course of the race which does not go near the Trocadéro.

It shouldn’t affect you. The riders come to Paris quickly on a route (every year the route can be slightly different) directly to the Champs Elysées. They then race up the Champs then down and around the Tuileries Gardens, then back up the Champs 8-10 times, then it’s over. They aren’t riding/racing throughout Paris. Anywhere in Paris, except for the Champs Elysées and Tuileries Gardens area, is unaffected and you won’t even know the Tour is happening.

Except for the fact that they come into Paris usually along one of the roads along the river, and sometimes the ones in the 16th. And road closures will be set up early that day.

Hopefully the tour organizer will be keeping an eye on the Tour route for entering Paris and plan Accordingly.

Edit to add: according to the official website, the Tour riders will be coming from Rambouillet, which is south of Paris, for the final stage. So hopefully they will be completely out of your way (although I couldn’t find the specific route map yet).

I checked the timings of that stage: no traffic restrictions before 9.30 AM. And the tour will not pass near Trocadero anywa. You'll be fine!

In my experience they don’t come in along the river very often. Wish they did.
