Travel in Alsace

Hi!
What’s the most economical way to travel around Strasbourg, Colmar & the rest of Alsace (and maybe into Germany) by bus & train?

I don't have personal experience with this, but there is train service between Strasbourg and Colmar. In season, there is a bus loop around the villages near Colmar. If you search the forum for Strasbourg day trips, you might find info about nearby German locations for train or bus trips, too. I suspect most of this is local trains and buses without a price advantage booking in advance, but you can try looking at prices on the SNCF website for travel tomorrow vs in a few months. If you prefer a car, you'll need to look at the parking and restrictions in Strasbourg (needing a special pass to drive in certain areas) and whether there is an extra fee to drive into Germany.

We spent 5 nites on Colmar without a car. We were able to access as many "cute" villages as we cared to see by local bus. Buses connect most villages along the Route du Vin(sp?). We never felt the need for a car. To travel farther afield it would be handy. I wouldn't want to drive in Strasbourg, Colmar maybe. Brad

Bicycle.

Seriously, you need to give some specifics. But if you can't use Rome2rio; it's pretty good.

I travel all the Alsace-Lorraine, Saarland, and RheinPfalz daily and use car and train most of the time. But I have a bike too.
