I am going from Paris to Porto Portugal. Transavia has flights from Orly airport, but they seem to have terrible reviews. RyanAir flies from Beavais airport which is 1 1/2 hrs from Paris. Does anyone have any experience with either? thanks sue
Beauvais airport is far from Paris and fairly hard to get to. Ryanair will nickel and dime you for everything. TAP has 3 flights a day from Orly. Why not them? Air France from CDG has lots of flights.
Paris-Porto flights are operated by many airlines from Paris Orly (and also by Air France from CDG).
If you look at the bad reviews, you'll see them for absolutely every airline, even your favorite.
Transavia is the low-cost sub-branch of Air France.
Easy Jet, which is another low-cost airline, and TAP, the Portuguese national airline, also operate flights from Orly.
Ryan Air, which is, in my opinion, the worst low-cost airline in existence, flies from Beauvais Airport, very far from Paris.
Be careful with Ryan Air; they charge extra for absolutely everything, even a glass of water. They have employees specifically tasked with checking for oversized baggage. They receive a bonus for each bag found to be too large or too heavy. A bag that's 1 cm too large or 100 grams too heavy can cost you three times the price of the basic ticket.
I have flown Transavia 5 or 6 times from various locations to Paris, including from Porto to Orly. No problems on any flight. All were on time. That being said, I do always pay extra for a refundable/changeable ticket which also allows me to select a seat at booking. I always check a piece of luggage which they have never lost. Just remember that this is a budget airlines. They have a food and drink cart, but everything including water costs money. If you care, you will need to carry your own food which is never a bad idea in any case. Enjoy your trip.
