we are travelling to Paris Sept 7, we land @ 10:30 am , planning on catching 1:40pm train from St Lazare station to Valognes (via Caan), should we take taxi or train from airport to train station, is there enought time? We had a private transfer booked, but trying to cut some costs. thank you
I just traveled to CDG and then to Saint-lazare last week. I took the Roissey bus (€11 pp each way). I find it much simpler than trying to navigate RER and Metro. The bus drops you off next to the Opéra Garnier, a 7-minute walk from the train station. Your timing seems tight though. My scheduled arrival was 7:45am, and I made a noon train with time to have a coffee across the street from the train station. But it all depends on when your actual arrival is, and how quickly you get through customs. Plus, you may miss more of the rush hour traffic then I did given your arrival time.
As you're trying to connect with a specific train departure I'd probably use a Taxi, despite the cost. It could be a bit of a gamble as traffic may or may not be a problem.
