Travel from Mont St Michel to Paris

I'm considering either the Flixbus to travel from Mont St Michel to Paris (La Defense or Saint Lazare metro station) or a train.
I'm exploring the OUI train through Rennes, which is 150 euros more expensive for two of us. Shorter journey but more changes, including metro to La Defense, where I'm staying.
Fixbus goes from Mont Saint Michel to La Defense, but it's long - 5h35 mins.
Does the Flixbus start in Mont St Michel at La Caserne or in Portorson? I can't seem to find out on the Flixbus site whether it starts in Portorson or La Caserne/Mont St. Michel. It says Mont St. Michel. Is that the same as La Caserne, the town nearest the island?
How do I calculate the real total travel time to Paris if I don't know where the Flixbus actually starts?
I'm spending the night on the island.
Any recommendations on traveling to Paris?

The map on the Flixbus website indicates that it starts from La Caserne, adjacent to the MSM car park.

Personally, having nearly been driven off the road twice by Flixbus drivers (one was texting on his mobile phone), I wouldn’t touch them with the proverbial barge pole.

There is a direct train from Pontorson (10k from Mont saint Michel, and there are shuttles) to Paris on some dates, in the evening at about 6. It takes 4 hours and, not being a high-speed train, it is much cheaper than going through Rennes.
If the timing suits you, it is worth looking out for.

By Public Transportation:

Take the TGV (France's intercity high-speed rail train) from Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Rennes. The train ride will be about two hours and cost around €56. From Rennes a coach bus runs to Mont-Saint-Michel and takes about an hour and 20 minutes. A one-way coach ticket is around €15.

Thanks for the advice. We first went to Bayeux for two nights; then to MSM for a night. Took the bus to Pontorson, had lunch there and the train to Paris with a train change in Granville. The train to Paris had 8 stops -- a long ride (5 hours total) but we saved a lot. We arrived when the Tour de France was ending -- and the Champs Elysee station was closed so we had to get the L train to La Defense.
And there was a delay at a barrier on the way to Pontorson, and several people missed their train...glad we gave ourselves plenty of time.
