Travel from Milan to Loire (Tours)

We are looking for the quickest and easiest way to to travel from Milan to Tours (we will rent a car in Tours).

I looked into to flying from Milan to Tours but it seems that I can't find flights to Tours from Milan. Is it correct that the airport in Tours only has a few flights in and out? So will either have to fly to Paris and then take a train to Tours or train from Milan. A nice overnight sleeper would be okay, but it appears a few train changes are needed.

My first time doing this, so apologies for ignorance and THANK YOU!

Best,

Simplest solution, since you will be renting a car, is to take the Easyjet flight from Milan Linate to Paris Orly, rent a car there and drive the rest of the way. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Tours, or less to the Chateau country on the Loire.

Simple, and BRILLIANT. I think I was stuck on needing to pick up the in the Loire, since I already booked a car at Enterprise in Tours. I will just cancel and switch to Paris. Appreciate you!

Easyjet has direct flights from Milan Linate to Paris Orly. Linate is closer to Milan than Malpensa, but you might also look at flights from Malpensa. And Orly is on the south side of Paris, but you could also look at CDG.

No, to get to the Loire, do NOT look at flights from Milan to CDG, but only to Orly. There are plenty of flights to Orly, it will save 60-90 minutes of stressful driving around Paris vs. CDG. Even if it costs more, it will be worth it.
