My wife and I are ending our trip to France in Paris, but will be traveling to Paris from Beynac. We will have a car that we will need to drop off somewhere and catch a train into Paris. Where would you suggest we drop our car? We don't mind driving a certain amount to drop our car as I've read that trying to do the entire trip from Beynac/Sarlat to Paris via train can be tricky. We just don't feel like driving all the way to Paris from this region. We also have never experienced a train ride, so we thought we'd like to do that as well. Thanks.
How about dropping your car at Bordeaux? It would be a 3.5 hour train from there to Paris.
What rental company are you using? Brive-la-Gaillarde is a 1h drive from your ending location. It is a medium sized city with an airport and train station that might have your rental car company. From this town it is a 4h train ride to Paris.
Either one is fine, although having done the train from Brive, I might recommend you go from Bordeaux! We were on some ancient (not ancient charming, but ancient rather yucky) train both coming and going, I couldn't believe these were French trains.
Another thing to think of is do you have your accommodation in Paris reserved yet? Trains from Brive come into Gare d'Austerlitz, while those from Bordeaux come into Montparnasse. One may be easier than the other for access to your hotel (although both are on metro and this really isn't a big deal).
