We're ending our Best if Eastern France tour in Aix en Provence on September 16 and then spending 3 days in Lyon.
We would like suggestions on the easiest train connections: Aix en Provence TGV vs Marseille.
Also, does one would take a cab to the Aix TGV station?

Definitely travel from Aix TGV.
There are frequent buses that leave from the Gare Routière just 500 metres south of the Rotonde at the end of Cours Mirabeau, but if that's not within walking distance from your Aix hotel, a taxi is a better option, for about €50 if I remember well.
