We are US citizens arriving to CDG from Latvia and then have a connecting flight to Bordeaux. We only have 1 hour connection between flights. Do we have to go through any security/controls where they will the check vaccination status? Just worried about potential delays that may cause us to miss the connecting flight. This link concerns me - https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/coming-to-france-your-covid-19-questions-answered/. Thanks so much!
Latvia is a Schengen treaty member state as is France, so there is no Passport check going from one to the other. However you got to Latvia, at one point you entered the Schengen treaty zone and your passport was stamped with your entry date. You will get your passport stamped again when you exit the zone. So there is no check, anymore than there is a check of your passport when you fly from Atlanta to Minneapolis.
Airports are separated in 2 sections, one for flights to/from Schengen countries, and the other for flights to/from non-Schengen countries. Between the two sections there is passport control. So you will arrive at the gate in the Schengen section of the airport and going to another gate in the Schengen section, thus no passport control to go through.
France does still require vaccination status on an official document. I had to submit it 2 weeks ago for my trip from England - electronically.
I was just in France this weekend and I entered from Austria, which is also Schengen. I was never asked at any point for any COVID documentation.
