Travel bedding

I would like to purchase a set of light bedding, like a sleeping bag only lighter, something easily packed in a backpack. Any suggestions?

It would help to know exactly what you're looking for. Are you looking for a liner for a sleeping bag? Or just something to lay on top of the bed?

I would like the sheets, but in a convenient travel form, like a sleeping bag. This would enable me to stay somewhere without the host making up a bed.

Thank you for the silk sleeping bag liner suggestion. That looks perfect. I live in France so I hope to find a French producer.

I have something similar it folds up very small. I use it for camping in warm weather and have taken it on overseas trips where I stayed in AirBnBs. The only thing I don't like is the built in pillow cover (it just gets in my way).

Thank you. If it’s silk, it should be good even for cool temps, such as now in Paris.

Au Vieux Campeur is a good suggestion, but you're likely to find a lot of "pro" sleeping bags designed for hikers who sleep outdoors or for mountain use.

Decathlon stores have a wide selection of sleeping bags for less specialized use.

They also sell sleeping bag liners.

My first one was a regular twin sheet that my mother sewed two edges together. .

For those who are unfamiliar with the stores, Au Vieux Campeur is similar to REI Coop in the U.S. Pretty good quality stuff from a variety of manufacturers for people who want those kind of products.

Decathlon, on the other hand, doesn't really have a good comparison in the U.S. Its regular stores (not the smaller Decathlon Essential stores, which are pretty limited in their offering) tend to sell products of considerably lesser quality. Decathlon is well known for not stocking products made by other suppliers but instead offering knock-offs under its house brand Quechua.

I should add: Decathlon is a fine choice if you're not so worried about performance or durability. Its products can do the job pretty well for a while. My preference is to pay once and a bit more for better quality than less for something that needs replacing sooner than ideal.

I don’t have a sleeping bag so I’m looking for a product that will serve as such, but very lightweight, to fold up small in a backpack and canbe used in warm weather or cool weather but essentially as needed in travels when I stay someplace that asks me to bring my own sheets.

I’m not sure that that was clear in my initial post.

A sleeping bag liner fits the bill.

Their primary purpose is to help keep expensive down sleeping bags clean as they are difficult to wash. But a liner packs down to nothing, and they are perfect in warm weather when you need to cover yourself, but everything else is too warm. Silk is great, but cotton mixes are also available.
